I wish to start a new business because of necessity. I will run chess tournaments in five categories
1) Casual open play type "tournament" where everyone gets a participation prize and the players (and their parents) should not be to concerned who "wins" - more for training than anything else expect 100% kids as participants.
2) Informal Blitz (implemented as 3 2 in a round robin format with payout to top three players.
3) Formal Quickchess tournament using 15 5 time control and no scoresheets
4) Formal FIDE style tournament with scoresheets and clocks mandatory and strict adherence to MY rule set which will be independently published, but as compliant with FIDE rules as I feel is proper.
5) Scholastic chess tournament, by grades, will be run by USCF style rules but a few rules will be slightly different as they will be more FIDE compliant.
My organization will provide TD certification and a clear set of rules to be consistently applied in ALL events w/o exception. Equipment standards will be more restrictive. Electronic devices will not be allowed in the playing area, even if turned off. This applies to ALL such devices except watches which make NO noises ever. NO smart watches and NO Monroi type devices!
USCF organizers will NOT be open to run such tournaments until they pass my certification, and events MUST have at least one such TD per 50 players or portion thereof. There will be detailed descriptions of environmental standards, especially regarding noise, temperature, lighting etc.
We will guarantee to the player that the playing area will be clean, quiet and comfortable.
Yearly dues will be quite small, and members can play in USCF or FIDE events, but ONLY events in my organization will affect their rating for mine.
The rating system will be direct. It will be simple enough that players can calculate their new rating after a tournament.
